NAMES PROCERT LABS AS OFFICIAL REVIEW BODY FOR NEW AUTHORIZED CURRICULUM
PROGRAM.
ProCert Labs to provide quality assurance testing
for CompTIA Authorized Quality Curriculum program.
ProCert Labs, the quality assurance standard for professional certification
courseware, today announced a formalized agreement with the Computing
Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) to provide quality assurance
testing of courseware products for the CompTIA
Authorized Quality Curriculum (CAQC) program.
ProCert Labs provided input to the development of the program and demonstrated
success, acceptance and support in pre-launch beta exposure last month.
Vendors who participated in the CAQC program with ProCert Labs during
the beta period include ComputerPrep, Course Technology, ElementK, GTS
Learning, McGraw Hill, SmartForce, TestOut, and Wave Technology. “We
are impressed with the level of support, capability and professional
quality of ProCert Labs and are excited to have their involvement in
our program” said Jonathan Thatcher, program manager for CompTIA.
“We are proud to support CompTIA in their effort to identify quality
courseware to a growing number of certification candidates.” Said
Paul Hoffmann, vice president of operations for ProCert Labs. “It
is our intention to facilitate CompTIA’s success by providing
consistently reliable courseware reviews and by helping to promote products
that meet expectations of quality.”
The CAQC program is a quality review initiative for IT training material
that uses quality standards set by CompTIA and a consortium of leading
vendors. CompTIA is placing more emphasis on quality training materials
to better enable students in pursuit of IT certification and skilled
job roles. In addition, the CAQC program serves as a requirement for
other CompTIA and IT industry programs.
ProCert Labs is authorized to review print, CBT, Web-based, instructor-led,
video and even PDA-based courseware for CAQC. In recognition of CompTIA’s
global reach, ProCert Labs conducts reviews in multiple languages including
English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Korean, Spanish and Japanese.
Courseware publishers wishing to participate in the CAQC program can
submit courseware to ProCert Labs for testing effective immediately.
ProCert Labs is a team of qualified instructional design experts with
extensive experience in designing IT-related courseware. ProCert Labs
does not publish courseware or compete with courseware vendors, and
uses specialized Web-based tools to manage and conduct secure and confidential
testing. Hoffmann explained, “Testing evaluations conducted by
ProCert Labs are non-biased, vendor-independent assessments of quality.
We base our reviews on a standardized testing process that is applied
in a consistent methodology to ensure fair and accurate results.”
ProCert labs is a cornerstone service of ProCert Communications’
ongoing effort to raise awareness of Information Technology and to improve
perceptions of IT credentials and their value in the job market. For
